Dixie Dock Dogs - Practices

Would you like to bring your dog to a practice with Dixie Dock Dogs?

Currently, we have three practice docks located around the Atlanta Area and are looking for another dock on the north side of town.

Practice Schedule

2nd Sunday each month: Lake Oconee practice dock

3rd Sunday each month: Lake Lucerne practice dock

4th Sunday each month: West Side (Whitesburg) practice dock

The West Side practice dock is a new facility for us. It has a shaded, covered area to crate the dogs. It also has a real EV rig! Thanks to Michael Barnhill for securing this dock for us. He will also be wrangling the practices at this location.

What to bring to practice

4-ft. flat leash (you can tie up a longer leash to make it 4 feet)
water for your dog
toy or object that will float
poopy bags for poop pick-up
chair for you (optional)

You may also bring a crate for your dog. Although your dog may be quite well behaved on a leash, very often when he gets around all the other dogs jumping and playing in the water, he will become quite excited, and it might be difficult to hold him on a leash for an extended period of time.

Procedure for Reserving a Place at Practice

Go to our Dixie Dock Dogs forum and look for the Roll Call post for the practice.

Reply to the post to reserve a place at that practice. You need to register in the forum to post. (Registration is free.)

If you have not registered on the forum, click on the blue tab (at the very top of the forum page) that says Login-Register-Members. There you will get your login and password so you can post in our forum to reserve a place at practice.

After you have posted what time you want for practice, you will receive an email with directions to the practice dock and a copy of the practice rules.

Practice fee is $5.00 per dog (Please try to have correct change.)

You may attend one practice as a non-member after which you will need to join our club to attend practices.

If you have not previously corresponded with us, be sure to include your email address in your reply so we can send you the directions and rules.

This is a very nice facility with a competition pool, and we urge you

to practice there, especially if your dog has never jumped into a pool.

Dock Diving Special: Any Saturday, 1:00 - 3:00, $10.00 per dog!
